Hours of Service for Entrance 
and Clearance 
This remote airport is serviced by the 
Alcan, AK Port of Entry - 40 road miles 
one way.  Limited inspection services 
for entrance/arrival of aircraft at PAOR 
are available between the hours of 
1000 and 1400, 7 days per week in 
accordance with the port's permission 
to land procedures.
Commercial aircraft operators 
departing the U.S. must obtain an 
outbound clearance by contacting 
CBP directly. 
Permission to Land Procedures 
After transmitting your manifest in APIS, pilots must secure 
permission to land by contacting CBP prior to departure 
from the foreign airport/departure point and at least 2 hours 
in advance of the anticipated arrival time at Northway 
Airport.  You must contact the Alcan Port of Entry at (907) 
774-2242 or 2252 and coordinate your arrival with an officer to
request approval for landing rights. If you have not
coordinated an arrival time and been approved by an officer to
land, you are not authorized to fly to Northway.
Permission to land is granted with a tolerance of (+/-) 30 
minutes. If your ETA deviates outside these parameters, 
previously granted permission(s) are invalid and you must 
contact the CBP port to re-secure permission to land. 
Inspection Process 
• Final arrival arrangements should be made between 0800-0900 on the day of arrival by contacting the Alcan
POE and receiving assurance that processing is available that day and time.
• Aircraft should park on the tarmac adjacent to the fence.
• There is no CBP office at this location.  An officer is dispatched from the Alcan, AK Port of Entry, 40 miles away.
• A CBP officer will meet the aircraft on the tarmac to begin the inspection.
• All crew and passengers will be processed plane side and should remain at the aircraft.
• All crew and passengers will present their own passports, visas, pilot's license, medical certificate, aircraft
registration and user fee decal
• There is no USDA compliance agreement in place at Northway Airport for the collection of regulated waste/
garbage and therefore no food products should be transported.
• Only aircraft arriving from Canada can be served by CBP at this airport.
Special Procedures/Miscellaneous 
• CBP Officers travel from the Alcan Port of Entry, AK to process arriving aircraft at this airport; accurate
ETAs and timely updates for ETAs are essential.
• Hours and seasonal coverage vary depending on weather conditions.
• Advise CBP if you are transporting firearms, animals, wildlife products (meat, hides, etc.) or
commercial products.
• Advise CBP if the aircraft is being imported into the United States.
