Inspection Process

  • Aircraft should proceed to taxiway exit A2 and park by row 12 next to hangar 5 marked by blue cones.
  • There will be limited parking spots for arriving international flights and may be required to move aircraft within 30 minutes or less of clearing Customs.
  • If an aircraft lands in the U.S. and CBP officers have not arrived, the aircraft commander shall hold the aircraft, and any merchandise or baggage on the aircraft for inspection. Passengers and crew members shall be kept in a separate place until CBP officers authorize their departure.
  • A CBPO will meet aircraft on ramp to begin the inspection; all crew and passengers will be processed at the aircraft.
  • Vehicles and persons, except for Signature employees parking the aircraft, are to stay at least 100 ft away from aircraft until CBP Officers conclude the inspection process.
  • Be prepared to present passports, visas, pilot’s license, medical certificate, aircraft, and user fee decal (if appropriate).
  • Regulated waste/garbage will be collected by Signature employees from the aircraft crew.
  • Passengers can depart directly from the aircraft at the conclusion of their inspection.

  • After hours service may be available with advance notification received during duty hours.
  • Permission to land during winter ski season must be secured at least one day prior to arrival.
  • This airport is a “User Fee” airport and fees are charged by the FBO for CBP services.
  • It is strongly recommended to file EAPIS/APIS correctly the first time. Any changes to manifest, an approved flight will lose the dedicated time slot and may have to make other arrangements. Please ensure original manifest is correct. Multiple transmissions for the same flight can cause a forfeiture of time slot.
  • Diversions: Due to weather or airport closures, proceed to Denver International (KDEN/DEN) as an alternate unless arrangements with another CBP staffed airport have been made.
  • Commercial cargo cannot be processed at this airport.
  • It is advised to depart early to ensure an on-time arrival. ETA tolerance of +/- 30 minutes and on very busy days, may be tolerance of +/- 15 minutes; otherwise re-approval or alternate arrangements must be made if ETA cannot be honored for any reason. Flights to KEGE are expected to have “full tank of fuel” due to frequent rerouting and diversions. Please have an alternate plan if ETA cannot be honored and/or CBP cannot accommodate due to other prearranged flights. There will not be waiting areas available and there is only 1 taxiway. Permission to Land Procedures 
Eagle County Regional Airport (KEGE) is designated 
as a “user fee airport” [19 CFR 122.1(m);19 CFR 122.15].  
Pilots must secure permission to land by contacting CBP 
during regular office hours and at least 3 hours prior to 
departure from the foreign port or place.  Please copy 
pilots on messages for all international flight operations.
Permission to land is granted with a tolerance of (+/-) 30 
minutes. If your ETA deviates outside these parameters, 
previously granted permission(s) are invalid and you 
must contact the CBP port to re-secure permission to 
land.
