Inspection services for the entrance/
arrival of aircraft at Juneau 
International Airport are generally 
available seven days per week, 24 
hours per day in accordance with the 
port’s permission to land procedures.  
Commercial aircraft operators 
departing the U.S. must obtain an 
outbound clearance by contacting 
CBP directly. 
Permission to Land Procedures 
Pilots must secure permission to land by contacting CBP 
prior to departure from the foreign port or place and at 
least two hours in advance of the anticipated arrival time 
at PAJN.  
Permission to land is granted with a tolerance of (+/-) 30 
minutes. If your ETA deviates outside these parameters, 
previously granted permission(s) are invalid and you 
must contact CBP to re-secure permission to land.  
Inspection Process 
• The aircraft should be parked at the area on the ramp designated by the flight tower.
• Depending on the type of aircraft 4 parking locations are possible.
• A CBP officer will meet the aircraft on location to begin the inspection.
• All crew and passengers will  be processed inside the airport office.
• Passports, visas, pilots license, medical certificate, aircraft registration and user fee decal will all be
physically verified.
• Depending on foreign location arriving from, regulated waste/garbage will be collected by CBP from
the aircraft crew.
• Passengers can depart directly from FIS at the conclusion of their inspection.
Special Procedures/Miscellaneous 
• The Juneau Airport office is only staffed to accommodate a pending arriving aircraft.
• CBP Officers must travel from the downtown Juneau CBP Seaport Office or home depending on
time of arrival.
• Service may be delayed up to an hour if proper advanced notification is not made.
• The pilot should state whether the aircraft is on wheels or floats.
