  • A CBP Officer will meet the aircraft on the ramp to begin the inspection.
  • Passengers and crew should be prepared to present passports, visas, pilot’s license, medical certificate, aircraft registration, and user fee decal (if appropriate).
  • Document review and interviews will be conducted onboard the aircraft unless circumstances dictate otherwise.

For example, outbound flights after service hours (1500 PST), or A.M. inbound/outbound (0830-1030) must be made in advance by 1300 PST. Outside of regular office hours, or requests that do not meet the 2 hour processing time, please contact CBP Oakland Marine Desk at (510) 271-8900 ext. 2001.
  • Any change to ETA, crew list and passengers list must be made by contacting 510-271-8900 ext. 2001.
  • Flights must arrive between 0830 to 1500 to be granted landing rights. The only exception is medical, and CBP management discretion.
  • Medical flights and emergency diversions should contact 510-271-8900 e xt. 2001 and or on duty CBP Supervisor 510-271-8936.

Pilots must secure permission to land by contacting CBP 
prior to departure from the foreign port or place and at least 
24 hours in advance of the anticipated arrival time at 
Oakland International Airport.  
Permission to land is granted with a tolerance of (+/-) 30 
minutes.  If your ETA deviates outside those parameters, 
Previously granted permission(s) are invalid and you must 
contact CBP to re-secure permission to land.
