- All bags and personal items must come off the aircraft and be brought into the FIS for inspection.
- All compartments and hatches are to be opened for inspection.
- Only one flight processed at a time. Crew will be processed first and must remain until all passengers are cleared.
- Be prepared to present passports, visas, pilot's license, medical certificate, aircraft registration, and user fee decal {if appropriate}.
- All waste, garbage and regulated food items will be collected by the aircraft crew and turned over to CBP or an approved Field Base Operator (FBO) under CBP/USDA regulated garbage compliance agreement.
- Passengers can depart directly from FIS at the conclusion of their inspection.

Commercial aircraft operators departing the U.S. must obtain an outbound clearance by contacting CBP directly. Pilots must secure permission to land by contacting CBP prior to departure from the foreign port or place and at least one hour in advance of the anticipated arrival time at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. Permission to land is granted with a tolerance of (+/-) 30 minutes. If your ETA deviates outside those parameters, you must contact CBP to re-secure permission to land.
