Hours of Service for Entrance 
and Clearance 
Inspection services for the entrance/
arrival of aircraft at St. Petersburg/
Clearwater International Airport are 
available Monday-Friday, 1130-1930 in 
accordance with the port's permission 
to land procedures.  
Commercial aircraft operators 
departing the U.S. must obtain an 
outbound clearance by contacting 
CBP directly. 
Permission to Land Procedures 
Pilots must secure permission to land by contacting 
CBP prior to departure from the foreign port or place 
and at least 24 hours in advance of the anticipated 
arrival time at KPIE. 
Permission to land is granted with a tolerance of (+/-) 30 
minutes. If your ETA deviates outside these parameters, 
previously granted permission(s) are invalid and you 
must contact CBP to re-secure permission to land.  
Inspection Process 
• Aircraft should park on the CBP ramp that is designated as “Gate 6” at the back of
the St Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport terminal.
• The air traffic control tower can direct aircraft in, if needed.
• The Federal Inspection Station ( FIS ) is attached to the main terminal.
• A CBP Officer will meet the aircraft on the ramp as soon as the engines are shut down, to begin the
inspection process.
• All crew and passengers will be processed inside the FIS.
• Be prepared to present passports, visas, pilot's license, medical certificate, aircraft registration and user
fee decal (if appropriate).
• Regulated waste/garbage will be collected by CBP from the aircraft crew.
• Passengers can depart directly from FIS at the conclusion of their inspection.
Special Procedures/Miscellaneous 
• Pilot can follow General Aviation Entrance signage on back left side of terminal building to use call box at
GA side door to contact CBPO if they are not planeside within 5 minutes of aircraft arrival.
