Inspection Process

  • Upon landing proceed to the Customs Ramp for clearance.
  • The aircraft control tower will direct if needed.
  • A CBP Officer will meet the aircraft on the ramp to begin the clearance process.
  • All crew and passengers will be processed inside the CBP General Aviation Facility.
  • Be prepared to present travel documents, Pilot’s license, medical certificates, aircraft registration, and user fee decal.
  • Regulated garbage will be handle by approved FBO.
  • After the aircraft and passengers are processed, continue to the selected FBO.

Inspection services for the entrance/
arrival of aircraft at San Antonio 
International Airport are generally 
available 7 days per week, 
0900-1830 in accordance with the 
port's permission to land procedures.
Commercial aircraft operators 
departing the U.S. must obtain an 
outbound clearance by contacting 
CBP directly. 
Permission to Land Procedures 
Effective June 1, 2024 pilots must secure permission to 
land by contacting CBP at KSAT during normal hours of 
service (0900-1830 CT) , no later than 24-hours prior to 
departure from the foreign port or place.
Permission to land is granted with a tolerance of (+/-) 30 
minutes. If your ETA deviates outside these parameters, 
previously granted permission(s) are invalid and you must 
contact the CBP port to re-secure permission to land. 
Inspection Process
